Pioneer Materials Inc. (PMI) is a supplier of advanced materials for thin-film deposition by sputtering and evaporation. PMI established itself with a proven record of on-time delivery, exceeding customer’s specifications, and cost competitiveness. Critical expertise in compound formation, powder processing, and powder consolidation have been developed by PMI for applications in thin-film photovoltaics, thermo-electrics, semiconductor and optical devices, and a portfolio of relevant intellectual properties has been built over years. PMI wholly owns an operation in Chengdu,China with more than 41,000 square foot manufacturing facility which is ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certified. PMI’s customers are distributed in North America, Europe and East Asia, and has target bonding partners in the corresponding locations. PMI was founded by veterans from the semiconductor, magnetic recording and sputtering target industries focusing on high performance materials applications.
Company Mission: To be a world-class supplier of the innovative materials in clean energy harvesting, semiconductor and other advanced materials applications.
In Yr. 2000, PMI was registered in the state of Delaware in United States
In Yr. 2008, formed a US wholly owned foreign entity in Chengdu, China. The company has built 41,000 sq.ft factory space in Chengdu, China, with an annual capacity of 14,400 targets
In Yr. 2008, the company's Chengdu subsidiary was ISO 9001 and ISO14001 fully certified
In Yr. 2008, the company has successfully developed an array of high-tech materials, including a fully selenized CIGS target for thin-film PV application, and semiconductor materials BiSeTe, BiSbTe for thermo-electric energy harvesting application.
In Yr. 2009, the company formed a strategic partnership with thin-film photovoltaic equipment suppliers and provided vertically integrated turn-key solutions. For example, such a strategic partnership was formed with Swedish thin-film PV equipment provider Midsummer AB.
In Yr. 2011, the company successfully developed variety of semiconductors made of chalcogenide compounds and glasses for the next generation non-volatile memory applications. Formed critical strategic relationship with a few world class memory chip manufacturers and research institutions.
